K-On Visual Novel

Komeiji told me to make a blog to at least get started, so here it is. From now on, any progress (If we actually manage to make any, that is) will be posted here.

Also, if you have any experience or even think you can help with sprites, CGs, or script-writing, post here.

Hell, if you're even INTERESTED in a potential K-On visual novel, post here. Encouragement is probably going to be the biggest help for us group of slackers from some board on 4chan.

That's all for now.

EDIT: Oh, I suppose I should adopt a trip, shouldn't I? I'll only use this in threads relating to the K-On VN, unlike a certain group of people who feel the need to post everything with it.

Is the trip.

  2. I would like to help in any way possible, except for drawing and art.

  3. Please make ritsu as bro-dere as possible, I mean like hanging out like a dude but on the inside a little girly. This is my fantasy. Also if the H-scene for ritsu isn't sans headband I will kill you in your sleep.

  4. Is my e-mail displayed anywhere on this blog? If not, it's "vnmaking044@gmail.com".

If you want to help, just shoot me an e-mail telling me what you want to do and if you have any experience in it. At this point, I'm pretty much letting anybody in, but I'll be honest and say that if we get an overflow of helpers in a single area, I'm going to be keeping only the best and I'll have to tell the rest we can't use them.

    @Other Anon:

Don't worry, as Ritsu as my own personal waifu I intend to give her route hours of personal attention.

  5. Why can't gaijin come up with interesting projects for visual novels? It's always the same old eroge crud with a different gimmick (then again, I might have answered my own question as it's a million times easier to that than actually come up with a good, original scenario).

  6. What's your job on this VN, by the way?

  7. Well if you can show me another K-On visual novel that's been made I'll be glad to admit I'm not being original.

  8. I suppose my job would be organizer and boss-man, but I do also intend to do some writing as well.

Specifically on Ritsu's route, but also on the "general" route; I.E. The parts of the VN that don't have anything to do with any of the girls.

  9. Do you even know what language you'll be scripting this in?

  10. We'll presumably be doing Ren'Py, but I'd like to hear opinions from people before we solidly get on that. While it might be more hassle, it might be over-all better to just program it ourselves.

  11. Please don't even try to program it from scratch.
There's absolutely no reason to use anything other than Ren'Py. Why would you want to make things harder for the team, and also make it take even longer to even show any progress?

  12. This project will die from "I'm making an MMORPG - I need a programmer, an artist, a writer, a musician..." syndrome.

Unless you're a chronically good organizer, willing to pay your staff, or able to bring something to the table other than ideas, don't even bother.

  13. That's what I was saying; I DON'T know if there's a reason why I would want to program it from scratch. My stance right now is to use Ren'Py, but if anybody at all can offer an opinion as to why we shouldn't, I'll be willing to consider it.

  14. Yeah, and that's why Katawa Shoujo and Broquest never got anywhere.

If we use Ren'Py, we don't even need a programmer. We can use music from the OST for our music.

The only thing we need is writers and artists, and we already have our character designs.

Anyways, as I've said: If we don't try, we'll never get anywhere anyways. And fuck all of you guys, I AM going to at LEAST try to make this happen.

  15. You say Katawa Shoujo never got anywhere?
I'm pretty sure it's pretty amazing what they've released so far, and they probably have much more content, which is almost done.
The work they put in Act 1 and what they ended up with is probably more than anything you'll make.
I'm not trying to be super negative, just realistic.

  16. YO DAWG, YOUR SARCASM METERS AIN'T WORKING.

What I'm saying is, if Katawa Shoujo and Broquest got places, I don't see why people think THIS can't get places as well.

They both came from the same website. Hell, Katawa Shoujo came from the some BOARD.

There's no reason to believe it's absolutely impossible for us to make the same progress.

  17. One of my team members told me about this work of yours. As a K-ON fan im hoping this will live up to my expactations. As a fellow VN developer im waiting to see how it turns out. Well i wish us both luck in this void of VN and that our works triumph over all otheres.
